Coloring with Pluto

Highlight of Disneyland today was Pluto taking Madi by the hand and leading her around to pick up a coloring page, and then sitting and coloring with her for a good 5 mins. I think in her mind she finds this perfectly normall behaviour. A similar thing happened when we were at Six Flags outside of chicago. Wags the dog from Wiggles World sat and colored with her for over 10 minutes. She also got to dance with Chip (as in half of chip and dale). So she had a very special character kind of day.

Denny is still a very wary of the characters he will go about within touching range then pulls away at the last minute. Though with the characters more hanging out, sitting on the seats next to the kids and coloring in, he is definately getting desensitised.

Its funny that after spending 2 months there in Jan, Feb this year, we have still done a new thing everyday we have been so far. We missed the santa's Roundup last year, because it had shut after New Years. But Madi in particular had great fun singing, dancing with Mis Chriss and Mild Bill! She got to shake jingle bells, dance the two step around the christmas tree. Denny got to woander around and poke his finger in the crack int he sidewalk ... riveting disneyland stuff.

Todays other highlights were a Minnie hugging, a Chip and Dale hugging (and dance), Pluto hugging (and coloring). We rode on Casey Jnr train - and Denny loved it. So much he refused to get off at the end - wanting "again". So that is a new favorite we will have to repeat, the disneyland Carosel, and a ride on the replica 1920 car up Main St.

The kids were tired by about 4.30 so we headed out - but when madi realised we were leaving - we had to do "one more thing" by going in to the shop in Downtown Disney. So the kids spent about 40 minutes wandering through, hugging the stuffed toys and denny kicking a ball. Then of course, mums found the 40% off the 2008 stuff. Then with the 10% from our annual pass discount - that is starting to be interesting. So we got the disney ball denny had kicked all around the store, plus a couple of lanyards for more tourist pins ... we have about 6 lanyards worth now, and a number plate surround for the new numberplates (when they arrive) for the fiver. We alreday have two on the car.

Then we jumped in the car and hit the peak hour traffic. Now we know better than this, but when the kids want to go ... what do you do ... we optimistically thought it would be an hour or so - 2 and a half hours later we got to riverside, The kids of course had a lovely sleep all the way home so are still awake now at 10.30. Le has conked out when snuggling with Denny earlier trying to get him to sleep ;) Oh well, I will try tuck them in one more time. Good Night.
