The birthday house

We have to return our Sandpiper fiver to forest river, goshen, indiana for repairs. They are replacing the whole side as there is a large crack in it. We found it when we were in BC, Canada and they told us we would have to bring it back to base. As we are fulltiming in it - we obviously have come with it.

I really wanted to stay around Madison Wisconsin while they fixed it for our Madison. But we just couldnt find any temporary accomodation that was affordable for 4 weeks. So we have scoured the internet and found Vacation homes are a better option and the same price as extended stay suites in a hotel.

We have got lucky, (we hope), and have a 4 bedroom lake Vacation house in Coloma, michigan. We were really not expecting to go to michigan - but it is only about 2 hours north of Goshen where we have to drop the fiver so - doable. We were really lucky and one person we contacted about their 2 bedroom cottage, heard our delima and put us onto a friend who had a 4 bedroom place, that might do it at the same price as his.

After being in a 35 foot fiver for just over 9 months - a 4 bedroom house, with hallways, verandahs, 2 living areas - well, the kids are doing laps of the place - its great. It also has a huge yard, but i love the verandah - you can only access it from the bedrooms so it is safe for the kids to run up and down. We are really going to enjoy staying here for 4 weeks.

Madi's birthday is in 2 weeks so we are calling this her birthday house. She is at that age where she really likes her bedroom in the camper - I suppose with moving around it is the stable thing in her life. But I have pulled out just about everything from the camper, and have made up the beds in the house with there doona's so hopefully she will transition into sleeping here ok.

Speaking of pulling things out of the camper, this place is on a hill - so lea expertly maneuvered it through the yard, up the hill - somehow. Then we started unpacking. I thought it would be a two hour job - it took all day! Amazing how much you can pack into a 35 foot fiver. But with them pulling the whole side off -we need to pull most of it out so ... lucky we have a 4 bedroom house to put all the stuff in.
